Service Dog Training
Service Dogs are defined in the Americans With Disabilities Act and are dogs that are specifically trained to help people with disabilites. For example, service dogs can be trained to help people with PTSD, OCD, mobility impairments, are deaf or hard of hearing, and many other conditions. We can help people with disabilities to train their own dog to assist them as a service dog.
Consultation
Your dog is a special part of your family. I will meet with you and your dog to determine which level he/she is currently at. We will go over all the options you may consider for the next steps in your dog's training. If you are considering public access, we may need to meet again at a public location.
IF YOU DON"T YET have a dog, I am available to consult and assist with choosing a great partner.
CGC Evaluation
Ready to take the 10 step Canine Good Citizen evaluation? If you need to brush up on your skills, consider taking the 5 week class that culminates in the CGC test. You can also opt to simply register for the test. Click below to arrange for the class or the test.
5 Wk class: $160
Test only: $25
Private Training
For families that would like one-on-one time with their dog and Trainer Amy. You can choose beginning skills or a specific task or behavior to work on.
Therapy Dog Training
Many families would like to share their furry friend with hospitals, schools and other facilities. I offer the opportunity to prepare your dog for this job by teaching great manners and social skills. I also connect qualified teams with opportunites to be certified and if desired, match with volunteer placement. Please click the button below to connect.
Emotional Support Dogs
An emotional support dog serves a vital role in the family of someone affected by trauma, stress, anxiety or depression. It is important that this pet fit in with your family, as their presence is very important in the home. Your dog can be trained to be a well mannered addition to your family.
An emotional support animal does not have the same public access rights as a service dog.
